Forvia is a sustainable mobility technology leader, seeking a year-round Data Science Intern for its headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The intern will assist in designing machine learning models, support end-to-end ML workflows, and collaborate with various teams to solve practical problems using AI.
Responsibilities
Assist in designing, building, and testing machine learning models for use cases such as computer vision, predictive maintenance, and anomaly detection
Support the development of end-to-end ML workflows, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and business teams to understand data and contribute to solving practical problems using AI
Help optimize model performance and experiment with different algorithms under guidance from senior team members
Use Python and common machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn) to develop and test models
Assist in integrating models into applications and workflows alongside data and software engineers
Contribute to exploratory AI initiatives, including generative AI use cases
Document code, experiments, and findings to support reproducibility and knowledge sharing
Stay current with emerging trends in data science and machine learning
Qualification
Required
Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program
Graduation of 2027 or later
Minimum 2.8 GPA
Preferred
Data analysis and excel skills are a plus
Majors in computer science, data analysis, or related field
