As a Data Science Intern, you will develop statistical modeling and predictive analytics tools to support decision-making across the Global Service organization, ultimately delivering a proof-of-concept model by the end of the summer.
Responsibilities
Define, research, and document business problems from the current development portfolio, performing exploratory data analysis as needed
Perform feature engineering
Select, develop, and prepare to operationalize predictive modeling tools
Evaluate, recommend, and validate proposed models
Document developed solutions and prepare communication appropriate to diverse stakeholder groups
Support ad-hoc data analysis requests from across the company
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar from an accredited college or university
Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or graduate-level student in good academic standing
Demonstrated ability to manage time and priorities over projects that span multiple months
Solid background in statistics and data analysis
Familiarity with Python, R, or another language for data manipulation, including common libraries and add-ons such as pandas and scikit-learn
Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail
Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Preferred
Coursework or projects related to predictive modeling, machine learning, or AI development
Proficiency in SQL
Familiarity with cloud-based database technologies (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, InfluxDB)
Previous internship or project experience involving analysis of real-world data
Foundational understanding of business concepts
