Xcel Energy is an energy company seeking an intern to support its CFO Organization across financial data governance, data visualization, and process automation. The role involves analyzing data, creating visual insights and dashboards, maintaining financial data, and assisting with automation and process improvement projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Support system administrator for financial/accounting systems and maintain and update financial master data
Document and maintain procedures, process guides, and supporting materials to enhance consistency and compliance
Ability to access, manage, transfer, integrate and analyze complex datasets
Develop, manage, and support automation project
Collaborate with team members and internal stakeholders
Qualification
Required
* Current Student, Junior status (as of Fall 2027) or higher
* Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, data science, computer information systems, management information systems, business computer information systems, or a related technology or business field
* Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy
Preferred
* 3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher
* Completed 2 years of undergraduate coursework
* Experience or Proficiency with data analytics tools; strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Interest in the energy/utility sector
* Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining data accuracy
* Experience with SQL, Pythion, Claude, MS Office (especially Excel), Power Platform
