Microbac Laboratories, Inc. is a premier commercial laboratory testing firm that partners with clients nationwide, offering laboratory solutions to life science, food and nutrition, and environmental industries. The Data Analytics & Information Management Intern will assist with data organization, reporting, data quality initiatives, and information management projects across the organization, providing exposure to enterprise data environments and business intelligence tools.
Responsibilities
Assist in identifying, cataloging, and organizing data sources across business systems and departments
Help create and maintain data inventories, data dictionaries, and metadata documentation
Review datasets for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and quality
Assist with data cleansing, standardization, and validation efforts
Organize structured and unstructured information to improve accessibility and searchability
Support the development of reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Excel and Power BI
Document business processes, data flows, and information relationships
Work with IT and business stakeholders to better understand how data is collected, stored, and utilized
Assist with projects focused on improving reporting, analytics, and operational visibility
Support data governance and information management initiatives
Participate in special projects involving automation, business intelligence, and AI readiness efforts
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, filtering, sorting, and basic data analysis
Interest in data analytics, reporting, business intelligence, or information management
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work with large amounts of information while maintaining accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI is beneficial but not required
Familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, or similar information management platforms is helpful but not required
Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and business processes quickly
