Central Garden & Pet is a market leader in the Garden and Pet industries, seeking a qualified intern to assist with development and implementation as part of the Corporate Analytics team. The role involves working closely with a Sr. Data Engineer and the broader Analytics team on projects related to data visualization, automation, integration, and technical documentation.
Responsibilities
Assist in migrating and optimizing reports and dashboards from existing platforms to Power BI.
Work with Tableau and BOBJ to transition key reporting processes.
Utilize DAX and Power Query to create efficient data models and visualizations.
Develop and maintain automated datasets to support recurring business reports.
Work with SQL to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources.
Identify opportunities to streamline data workflows and improve efficiency.
Assist in evaluating and implementing data connectors to integrate POS data sources into the company’s data lake.
Support the organization in making data more accessible and useful for business teams.
Develop user guides and documentation for key analytics tools and datasets.
Assist in creating reference materials outlining data sources, access, and use cases.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor’s degree in analytics, statistics, computer science or related quantitative field
Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, and SQL
A detail-oriented and analytical mindset with a passion for working with data.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within teams.
Preferred
Interest in cloud-based data solutions like Azure Data Lake
