The Data Analyst Co-op Student will gather and transform data, build dashboards, track KPIs, conduct ad-hoc analyses, and provide actionable recommendations to business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Data engineering, modelling and maintenance – Gather, clean, profile and transform data from large scale data environments to ensure data accuracy and integrity
Dashboarding - Design, build, and maintain key dashboards and reports to provide self-serve analytics to business teams
KPI Tracking - Trend analysis and ability to draw out insights by working with large complex datasets
Strategic recommendations - Translate complex data findings into clear, compelling narratives and actionable recommendations for business stakeholders
Ad-hoc analysis - Respond to analytical requests from business leaders, providing timely and accurate insights to support strategic decision-making
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
High level of proficiency in Excel, SQL and Python
Hands-on experience developing dashboards with data visualization tools such as PowerBI
Understanding of databases, data modelling, and ETL Concepts
Experience working with large-scale data environments (Google BigQuery, Teradata) is a significant asset
Proven ability to transform ambiguous business questions into a structured analytical plan
Strong problem-solving skills with an exceptional eye for detail
Excellent data storytelling skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Professional experience in a data analytics role preferred, with a strong business focus and ability to generate actionable insights
