Janus Henderson Investors is hiring a Client Technology Intern for a 10-week summer program in its Technology Governance team within Technology Business Management. The intern will support Client Technology platform solutions and data/reporting projects while learning about asset management technology, data management, and the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Get an overview of and gain valuable experience in client technology as a product and data analyst for the asset management industry
Gain valuable knowledge and insight into how IT is used to support the Asset Management process and how that translates into Client Tech Apps Product
Learn how an IT department operates
Contribute to data and reporting development projects
Learn time management by having weekly assigned work deadlines
Expand knowledge of software development lifecycle
Demonstrate keenness to learn from senior members in the IT teams and the business partners
Work closely with all members of the Client Technology platform support teams, business partners, and external vendors to support Client Technology platform solutions
Learn JHI Data Management processes and standard methodologies
Support the Client Tech Apps team with building data lineage, cataloging, creating data quality rules, scorecards etc
Carry out other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative/technical discipline
Strong grounding in an object-oriented language (e.g., C#, Java, or C++) and fundamental data structures and algorithms
Practical experience writing relational database queries (SQL) to retrieve, filter, join, and analyse data
Basic understanding of modern web architectures, HTTP, and RESTful APIs / JSON payloads
Familiarity with Git concepts (branching, commits, pull requests)
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a genuine eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative team environment
Preferred
Exposure to C# / .NET (or .NET Core / ASP.NET Web API) or modern frontend frameworks/component libraries
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure concepts (e.g., Azure SQL, Function Apps, or Azure DevOps pipelines)
Experience using Python or PowerShell for data processing, scripting, or automation tasks
Hands-on experience with developer and collaboration workflows (Jira, Confluence, Git-based code reviews)
An active interest or foundational project experience with modern AI tools, LLM APIs, or data migration workflows
