Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc. is a leader in professional hair color and beauty supplies. The Business Intelligence Intern will leverage data-driven insights to enhance business decision-making by analyzing large datasets, developing AI-driven models, and creating interactive dashboards.
Responsibilities
Analyze Large Datasets – Extract, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured retail data using SQL, Python, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric to identify trends and business insights that drive decision-making
Develop AI-Driven Models – Assist in building and testing machine learning models for demand forecasting, customer segmentation, and fraud detection, improving operational efficiency and customer engagement
Create Interactive Dashboards & Reports – Design and develop real-time, visual dashboards using Power BI to track key performance metrics for merchandising, supply chain, and e-commerce teams
Support Data Engineering & Cloud Analytics – Work with Azure cloud platform and Microsoft Fabric to optimize data pipelines and storage solutions, ensuring data availability and accuracy
Collaborate & Present Insights – Work cross-functionally with business stakeholders, data scientists, and engineers to present actionable insights, recommendations, and data-driven solutions to leadership teams
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets
Experience with Python or R for data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning
Familiarity with Databricks and Microsoft Fabric for data processing and analytics
Hands-on experience with Power BI for dashboard development and data visualization
Understanding of Azure cloud platform and data engineering concepts
Detail-Oriented: Ability to work with large datasets, ensuring accuracy and precision in analysis and reporting
Customer-Focused: Understands how data-driven insights can enhance customer experience, drive sales, and optimize retail operations
Team Player: Works effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with data engineers, business analysts, and retail stakeholders

Preferred
Prior work experience, coursework or internship experience in data analytics, machine learning, or business intelligence is preferred
Experience working with large datasets in a retail, e-commerce, or supply chain environment is a plus
