Merck is seeking a summer intern to join its Information Sciences team within the Research Division. Under supervision, the intern will work on system maintenance, webpage creation, publication data processing and curation, and management of drug development data while gaining hands-on professional experience.
Responsibilities
Under supervision, the intern will complete specific projects pertaining to system maintenance, webpage creation, processing and curation of publication data, and management of data used in the drug development process
Qualification
Required
* Currently pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or pharmaceutical science
* Must have completed at least one year of organic chemistry
* Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
* Must have proficiency with Excel
* Must be detail oriented and able to work independently to drive tasks to completion
* Must be available for full-time employment for 10-12 weeks beginning in May or June 2027
Preferred
* Should have demonstrated education and/or experience with chemical nomenclature (IUPAC or CAS)
* Should have computer programming skills (HTML, R, Python, Visual Basic), or experience with data science
* Should have experience with visualizations
* Should have chemical drawing package experience (i.e., ChemDraw, ChemSketch, Marvin, etc.)
* Should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher (preferred)
