Year-Round Finance-Intern, Indirect Procurement

Sherwin-Williams is a company dedicated to inspiring and improving the world through its paints and coatings. They are seeking a Finance Intern to gain hands-on experience in Finance & Indirect Procurement, focusing on vendor management and cost-saving initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Development and continuous improvement of Sherwin-Williams for all indirect sourcing vendors and spend
  • Support the enforcement of applicable Policies, processes, and procedures across the full indirect category
  • Assist with business relevant reporting, goal setting, and compliance reporting for the full indirect category
  • Assist data dives & data management for the procurement team including the transactional buyers
  • Assist with allocation of rebate checks
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement to provide better support for our customers, assist with CI projects, reduce costs and maximize the efficient use of resources. Work frequently with key business personnel across all divisions, domestically and globally. Use transactional lean or other continuous improvement tools consistently. Exhibit personal ownership and accountability for continuous improvement
  • General Responsibilities & Tasks: Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. Identify critical issues with ease. Push creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing company practices and client mindsets. Generate enthusiasm among team members. Acknowledge and appreciate each team member's contributions. Seek and participate in development opportunities beyond training required by us. Research or prototype new processes, tools and/or technologies. Assist with other enhancements or projects as needed to contribute to team efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support work with Indirect vendors to assist in the review of data to support sourcing events

Qualification

Required

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must be enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in Finance or Accounting at the time of the internship
  • Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including overtime as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred

  • Be a rising or current Junior or Senior in college or university at the start of the internship program
  • Have prior school or work experience in finance, accounting, or business
  • Have at least one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and/or Outlook)
  • Have previous experience working in a team-oriented setting including work experience, extracurricular activities, military service, etc
  • Previous experience in the Sherwin-Williams Corporate Finance Internship Program
