Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas, and they are seeking interns for their Velocity – Group Treasury Internship/Co-op for Fall 2026. This role provides students with the opportunity to track economic and market developments, support various teams, and undertake projects while gaining valuable experience in capital markets.
Responsibilities
Track economic and market developments and its PnL impacts as part of a buy-side desk
Take ownership of regular reporting and operational processes around one of the desk’s books
Provide support to various teams within the Bank
Attend meetings with key stakeholders and leadership
Undertake projects as required
Prepare data, automate spreadsheets and work with data analytics
Qualification
Required
You are currently enrolled in post-secondary education, with a proven interest in capital markets, particularly fixed income
You love to learn and envision yourself working for an international organization that heavily invests in your future
You enjoy being involved in extracurricular activities such as conferences, clubs, and competitions
You are a highly self-motivated individual with strong time-management skills
You have an analytical mindset and investigative abilities
You can lead high volume, time sensitive projects
You have strong written and verbal communication skills
You are proficient in Microsoft Office – particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred
Understanding of VBA and Bloomberg is considered an asset
