Valeo is a global high-tech company that designs revolutionary solutions to reinvent mobility. They are seeking a Tax Intern to support the tax department with compliance, data analysis, and technical research in a corporate manufacturing environment, focusing on unique tax complexities.
Responsibilities
Maintain and update vendor records to ensure tax information is accurate and complete for year‑end reporting
Verify 1099 eligibility and support the preparation and issuance of 1099 forms in compliance with IRS regulations
Request, collect, and validate W‑9 forms from vendors; follow up on missing or incomplete documentation
Assist with sales and use tax filings, including gathering data, preparing schedules, and reviewing transactions for taxability
Collect, organize, and track exemption certificates, ensuring they are valid, current, and properly stored for audit readiness
Run and reconcile tax schedules, such as vendor listings, purchase reports, and tax accrual summaries
Support tax audits by pulling documentation, preparing workpapers, and responding to information requests
Collaborate with procurement, accounts payable, and compliance teams to resolve vendor tax issues and maintain accurate records
Perform basic tax research related to sales/use tax rules, exemption criteria, and industry‑specific tax considerations
Assist with process improvements, including documentation updates, workflow enhancements, and data cleanup projects
Qualification
Required
Currently a student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is required
Available to start as soon as possible and work around 32-40 hours a week for Summer 2026
