The Tax Intern will support the Income Tax Operations team with foreign tax compliance and provision work, providing hands-on experience in income tax accounting and compliance for a large corporation.
Responsibilities
Analyze and reconcile various income tax accounts on a monthly basis.
Support income Tax Operations team with various accounting and tax compliance filing obligations.
Assist with responses to US and foreign income tax notices.
Communicate verbally and in writing with representatives of foreign tax jurisdictions.
Preparation of miscellaneous tax forms (FBAR, Form 8802, etc.)
Process foreign income tax payments and obtain necessary approvals for required tax filings.
Assist with ad hoc tax projects and miscellaneous administrative tasks.
This is a year-round internship requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week. Must be able to work at our Reston Corporate HQ office a minimum of 1 day per week.
Qualification
Required
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Graduate degree program from an accredited university majoring in accounting.
Ideal candidate would have an interest in pursuing a job in Tax.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and keep highly sensitive information confidential.
Ability to effectively interact with co-workers of all levels and with other departments within the finance organization.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and must be comfortable with virtual communications.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred
Enrolled in a master’s in taxation or accounting program is a plus.
Prior accounting internship experience.
A general knowledge of income tax is a plus.
Self-starter able to work independently and as a team.
