Veolia delivers water treatment solutions for municipal and industrial markets. The Procurement Intern will support supplier research, proposal organization, cost benchmarking, performance tracking, contract documentation, project coordination, compliance research, process improvement, and procurement system management.
Responsibilities
Supplier Research & Market Analysis Support: Conduct preliminary market research on suppliers specializing in mechanical, electrical, and fabrication services. Compile supplier capability data, pricing information, and industry trends to support the Regional Technical Category Manager's strategic sourcing decisions and market analysis activities
Proposal Documentation & Organization: Assist in organizing, tracking, and maintaining proposal documentation for custom turnkey projects. Support the compilation of supplier proposals, cost models, and evaluation materials to ensure all proposal costing and optimization activities are properly documented and accessible
Cost Data Collection & Benchmarking: Gather historical project cost data, labor rates, material pricing, and industry benchmarks. Organize this information into accessible formats to support total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses and cost reduction initiatives led by senior team members
Supplier and Operational Performance Tracking & KPI Monitoring: Collect and compile performance data (workload, liquidation, schedule, quality, safety, cost metrics) and prepare summary reports to support post-award management and supplier performance reviews
Contract & Compliance Documentation: Support the development and organization of contract templates, terms and conditions frameworks, and compliance checklists. Assist in ensuring documentation is current and accessible for negotiation and risk management activities
Project Execution Coordination Support: Serve as a liaison between the procurement team and project execution teams. Track project schedules, delivery timelines, and supplier commitments to support on-time delivery assurance and identify potential schedule risks early
Stakeholder Communication & Meeting Support: Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and distribute action items for cross-functional collaboration meetings with project teams, engineering, and suppliers. Support communication between procurement and internal stakeholders regarding project-specific needs
Procurement Process Documentation & Process Improvement: Collect current procurement workflows, sourcing processes, and supplier management procedures. Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in implementing best practices across the team's operations
Industry Standards & Compliance Research: Research and compile information on water industry standards, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and compliance frameworks relevant to custom turnkey/mechanical/electrical projects. Support the team's compliance and risk management efforts
Data Entry & System Management (SAP/Ariba): Support data entry, maintenance, and reporting within procurement systems (SAP, Ariba). Assist in generating reports and maintaining accurate supplier and project information to support category management activities
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Operations Management
Demonstrated interest in procurement, logistics, or operations management
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good technical writing skills
Ability to communicate effectively and contribute to team and department projects
Full-time availability for Summer 2027
