As an Actuarial Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the P&C sector, contributing to financial forecasting and reporting while developing your technical skills in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
Support Canadian statutory reserving and reporting under IFRS 17, gaining exposure to industry standards
Assist with financial forecast modelling, Financial Condition Testing (FCT) and the ORSA process
Contribute to the transition and stabilization of IFRS 17, collaborating with local and global project teams across functions including Finance and IT
Work on diverse projects and provide support to team members as needed
Apply analytical skills to solve real business problems while receiving mentorship from experienced actuaries
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, with Visual Basic Programming capabilities
Demonstrated progress in actuarial exams
Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams
Preferred
Experience with MS Access, R, Oracle or other database management tools
Previous internship experience in insurance, finance, or related fields
Knowledge of IFRS 17 concepts
Proactive learning style with intellectual curiosity
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
