Operations Finance Intern

Generac is a multi-billion dollar public company offering an internship program designed to develop students' business and technical skills within their accounting department. The Operations Finance Intern will assist with cost accounting functions, including product costing, operations reporting, and analyzing COGS variances while supporting continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Cost Accounting team with daily/monthly close activities including but not limited to the following:
  • Reviewing new product creations and raw material adds for accurate data and costing
  • Assist Cost Accounting team with identifying and reviewing purchase price variances (PPV) and driving resolution
  • Maintain and distribute labor reporting to production plants
  • Analyze cycle count and scrapping adjustments to ensure accuracy and SOX compliance
  • Project related work that might include: enhancing the cost roll analysis for our business group partners, producing analysis and contributing to the month end close process for the Cost Accounting team
  • Complete other projects as assigned

Qualification

Required

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Microsoft Excel experience
  • Conscientious, self-motivated worker with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a group setting
  • Dependable and organized

Preferred

  • Sophomore year status or higher
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands requiring initiative and independence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
