Forbright Bank is a nationwide full-service bank and commercial lender providing personal banking services and financing solutions to middle market businesses and investors. The National Lending Intern supports national lending teams through industry research, loan underwriting due diligence, credit risk management, borrowing activity support, and financial analysis while gaining exposure to specialized lending areas.
Responsibilities
Perform industry research to understand macro trends that impact a company and the competitive environment that it operates in
Aid the underwriting team in the due diligence process for loans
Assist in populating our internal system with all pertinent information on an opportunity
Assist in the management of credit risk, ensuring that asset quality remains strong, and executing strategies to limit the risk of loss
Help manage day-to-day borrowing activity of assigned loans
Perform financial analysis and projections by tracking the trends and developments that may impact loan performance under various economic scenarios
Participate in team-wide meetings
Complete additional portfolio and underwriting analysis/projects on an ad hoc basis
Perform other duties as assigned
Duties may vary depending on which lending team the Intern is assigned to
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma Required
Currently a junior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year accredited institution required
Strong financial statement analysis skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Outstanding problem-solving and time management skills
Self-motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented
Adaptable and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Can work independently and within a team; solution-oriented with a collaborative approach
Remain in a stationary position
Use hands and fingers
Utilize a computer monitor with visual acuity
Operate technology or other office machinery such as printers, scanners, etc
Communicate clearly verbally and/or in writing with others
Preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel); advanced Excel skills are ideal
