UNFI is North America’s premier grocery wholesaler, delivering a wide variety of products to community grocers and retail chains. The Internal Audit Intern will perform audit assignments, assist in planning and testing information for assessing risks and internal controls, and engage in project-based work while gaining exposure to the core functions of the organization.
Responsibilities
Interns will be expected to prepare and make an executive presentation to the executive team and their leaders at the conclusion of the program
Performs assigned testing of controls as part of Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 Compliance program which includes completing year-end testing as part of the Company’s quarterly financial statement review and annual audit
Performs assigned compliance and substantive testing procedures for department audits
Assists in obtaining and recording an understanding of the Company’s processes and nature of business
Identifies and evaluates risks and the internal controls which mitigate the risks in all assignments
Ensures audit assignments are appropriately documented, accurate, complete, and timely
Interns will participate in learning sessions hosted by the Internship team and supporting leaders of the business
Engage in weekly mentoring meetings
Engage in Internal Audit team meetings
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Enrolled full-time at a four-year degree program at an accredited university
GPA of 3.0 or higher
Must be authorized to work in the U.S
Must be a rising Junior or Senior (minimum of 60 credits completed by the start of the program)
Target Majors: Accounting, Business Admin, Business Management, or Finance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to interact with all levels of the business
Ability to manage and coordinate projects
Knowledge of public company regulations such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) and the COSO Internal Control Framework
Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision is not be immediately available
