ENGIE North America Inc. is leading the transition to a carbon-neutral world through its growing renewable energy portfolio. The Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Intern will support the evaluation and execution of renewable energy transactions, gaining hands-on experience in financial modeling, market analysis, and transaction diligence.
Responsibilities
Support financial modeling and valuation work (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions) for renewable energy project acquisitions, including solar, battery storage, and wind assets
Conduct industry, market, and competitor research to inform investment theses and bid strategy
Assist in preparing investment committee memoranda and transaction presentations
Support transaction diligence, including data room management, document review, and coordination across development, engineering, construction, power marketing, finance and legal workstreams
Analyze key risks, sensitivities, and value drivers impacting asset pricing and deal structure
Track and summarize market activity, active deal flow, and pipeline opportunities across North American power markets
Participate in internal discussions on deal strategy, structuring considerations, and investment recommendations
Qualification
Required
Minimum 2nd year undergraduate or graduate degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Science, or related field
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with a high degree of accuracy
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be a self-starter in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Preferred
Familiarity with Power BI is a plus
