The Hartford is an industry leading provider of property and casualty insurance, group benefits and mutual funds. They are offering a 10-week internship designed to immerse analysts in the buy-side investment management industry, providing extensive development opportunities and the chance to work on a capstone project.
Responsibilities
Work alongside one of HIMCO’s Front Office teams.
Contribute to sector assignments in credit research, privates, structured credit, quantitative equity, portfolio management, and macroeconomic strategy.
Participate in a mentoring program, a mock-trading competition, an executive speaker series, volunteering, and social events.
Present a capstone project to HIMCO senior leaders.
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026.
Highly motivated individuals with a strong record of academic achievement.
Demonstrated interest in financial markets.
Deep interest and basic knowledge of financial markets.
Some related course work (e.g. finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, engineering etc.) and/or student investment or finance club experience.
Strong drive, attention to detail, and a self-starter with a high degree of intellectual curiosity.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including use of technology.
Excellent time management, organizational and communications skills.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, & Word) is required.
Preferred
Familiarity with coding languages such as Excel VBA, R, Stata, or MATLAB, etc.
