Parker Hannifin's Bioscience & Water Filtration Division is seeking an Accounting Intern to join their team. The intern will support the accounting organization by participating in month-end processes, providing inventory analysis, and identifying cost-saving opportunities while working on a project throughout the internship.
Responsibilities
Participate in the month end close process, preparing journal entries related to inventory, sales, cost of sales and operating adjustments, reconciliations and month end financial statements
Provide inventory and transactional analysis, including scrap, production variance, absorption, and inventory valuation variance
Provide support to accounting leadership for reports and analysis in support of Division, Group and Corporate reviews, audits, and hoc requirements
Identify cost saving and lean opportunities with Plants to improve operations
Active participant in the development, implementation and support if Lean in Manufacturing and Finance
Partner with Plants/Cost star Points to analyze and report operational and financial performance
Focus on an intern project throughout the duration of the internship. The project will be based on needs of the business at the time and involve aspects of accounting, along with interactions between other areas of the business
Qualification
Required
Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field at an accredited 4- year college or university in the United States
Ability to work effectively on a variety of assignments
Strong leadership skills and a 'can do' attitude
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team
