Glacier Bancorp, Inc. is seeking an Intern for a paid summer Internship program at Western Security Bank. The role involves gaining exposure to retail, consumer, and commercial banking while assisting with various tasks related to loan processes and compliance.
Responsibilities
Shadow and assist Commercial Lenders, Credit Analysts and other staff as assigned. Gain exposure to the loan approval process by assisting with and/or completing credit authorization worksheets; input data, build tables, and borrower relationship information into presentations.
Develop a working knowledge of loan processes to include; customer interviews, gathering of appropriate information, analysis of information and underwriting of loans in a timely manner by approving, declining or submitting written recommendations to loan committee.
Research regulations and compliance requirements as related to bank policy, procedures, and practices.
Contribute team effort by assisting with daily tasks and/or special projects.
Input financial data into bank systems.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualification
Required
Completion of one year higher education and working toward a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or related field.
Display a high degree of reliability and dependability used to follow-through and meet commitments and agreements in a timely manner.
Demonstrated high level of quality, accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to be a highly motivated self-starter with intense focus on results.
Working knowledge of standard office equipment. Basic computer skills with working knowledge or ability to learn various office software.
Strong analytical skills and financial skills. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure; to meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines and to make decisions based upon regulation, company policy, knowledge and experience.
Communicate effectively: both verbally and in writing with others in a clear, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
Demonstrate phone skills by treating all internal and external customers in a polite and courteous manner.
Ability to make presentations both writing and orally.
Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others; work to develop and maintain cooperative and positive working relationships; represent the bank in a positive manner; maintain credibility with others.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding any information obtained during performing job duties; adhere to bank policies and procedures regarding confidentiality.
Adhere to guidelines, protocol, policies, and procedures and supervisor directives.
Display ability and willingness to make sound decisions; identify and resolve problems in a timely and positive manner and exhibit sound judgment.
Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management.
Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
