The Income Tax Compliance Intern will support federal and state income tax compliance by preparing state income tax returns, gathering financial data, performing calculations, completing tax software filings, and researching tax issues and law changes.
Responsibilities
You will be a key contributor, completing real work that is important to our success
You will be a member of the team responsible for the federal and state income tax compliance of our company and its subsidiaries
You will have the opportunity to prepare our state income tax returns, where you will gather financial data, perform calculations in our working papers, and ultimately complete the return in our tax software
You will work alongside experienced professionals who will guide you in researching and analyzing tax issues and incorporating law changes into the filings
Network with and receive coaching from a wide array of individuals, including senior leaders
Put the skills and knowledge that you have gained in your coursework to practice doing work that matters to our long-term success
Innovate and help us achieve our Operational Excellence goals (Operational Excellence is our term for process improvement, a key and constant focus at Weyerhaeuser)
Visit operations to see how our products are grown, produced, and sold
Gain practical experience and exposure to important software, which may include SAP, Power BI, OneSource tax, and the full Microsoft Office suite

Qualification
Required
**Education**: You are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance, and will have completed your sophomore year by the time of the internship (Summer 2027)
**Systems**: Proficiency in Excel, Word, and other Office products is key
**Teamwork**: You support others without being asked for help, are a team player, and know how to win together
**Curiosity**: You have a track record of proactively identifying potential issues and opportunities through analytical thinking and offering meaningful recommendations that address the root cause rather than symptoms

Our internship program lasts ten weeks with flexible starting and ending dates.
Weyerhaeuser offers a hybrid work structure, where employees work three days in the office (Tuesday through Thursday) and two days remotely.
