The Grad Intern – Finance will complete a strategic finance project, develop technical and financial skills, analyze financial and operational data, and collaborate with finance leaders and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Develop a highly differentiated set of technical and financial skills as you tackle a challenging project and prepare a presentation for the greater finance organization
Gain a deep understanding of your functional team and how it contributes to Amgen’s success. Potential team placements include Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, Accounting, Tax, Corporate Audit, and Corporate Services
Collaborate with fellow interns in a week-long multidisciplinary case study competition that will expose you to various aspects of our business including operations, sales and marketing, and forecasting
Explore opportunities to use data, automation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to improve financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, controls, and decision-making
Work with financial and operational data to identify trends, develop insights, and communicate recommendations to business partners
Gain direct exposure to Amgen executives and senior leaders through regular meetings, networking opportunities, and career development events
Network with colleagues across the company and enjoy full access to Amgen’s Employee Resource Groups
Qualification
Required
* Must be available to work a full-time schedule
* Expected continued enrollment in an accredited college or university following the internship program / co-op
* Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship program
* Must be available to accept and commit to future full-time employment by July 2028, if offered
* 18 years or older
* Graduated with a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
* Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master's program for a Master's internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR Ph.D. for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master's OR Pharm D OR Ph.D. program before the internship starts
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. for the duration of this program
Preferred
* Concentration in Economics, Business Administration, Biotechnology Management, Accounting or Finance
* Ability to demonstrate an understanding of basic financial analytical principles
* Effective communication and organizational skills
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
* Strong team mentality and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues on complex assignments
* Prior work experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
