Financial Analyst I - LIFT Intern

Cisco is a leading technology company revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect. They are seeking a Financial Analyst Intern to join their Finance organization, contributing to various finance roles and collaborating on projects that address real business challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Work within Cisco Finance during our fiscal year close
  • Engage in a substantive finance role, directly contributing to the success of your team. The specific type of work varies based on which finance organization you’ll be placed into. Types of roles can include Financial Planning & Analysis, Managing Operating Expenses, Commercial Finance, Accounting, and more!
  • Work on an intern team project focused on a real Cisco business challenge. At the end of the summer, you’ll then get to present your findings and recommendations to our U.S. finance community and relevant stakeholders
  • Collaborate and network with finance leaders, dynamic cross-functional teams, and early in career professionals
  • Transform data into actionable insights to address business challenges
  • Utilize AI-driven tools and intelligent automation agents to streamline financial reporting processes, extract actionable insights from complex datasets, and enhance the efficiency of team workflows
  • Learn and develop the business acumen and skills necessary to becoming a future finance leader
  • Attend various events throughout your experience that will expand your professional network and career development

Qualification

Required

  • To be eligible for the internship, you must be enrolled in a 4-year university and graduating between December 2027 – June 2028
  • Rising college senior obtaining a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or other business-related degree path
  • Or recent graduate with a bachelor's degree heading into a 1-year master's program in accounting or finance with no gap between undergrad and master's program
  • Available to start in our internship program as part of a cohort from June 7 – August 12, 2027

Preferred

  • Demonstrated proficiency in finance principles and technical excel skills
  • Foundational knowledge of AI tools and a strong aptitude for proactively applying emerging technologies to enhance financial modeling, data analysis, and workflow efficiency
  • Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit
  • Current involvement in experiences beyond the classroom, such as leadership roles in student organizations or clubs, active participation in sports or extracurricular activities, experience studying abroad, and/or balancing a full-time job while attending school

  • Non-exempt employees receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time employees
  • Exempt employees participate in Cisco’s flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)
  • 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next
  • Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members
  • Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
  • For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco’s policies
  • U.S. employees are eligible for paid time away as described above, subject to Cisco’s policies
