South32 is a company focused on producing commodities critical for a low-carbon world. The Finance Intern will support the Finance and Tax teams while gaining hands-on experience to prepare for future opportunities in the field.
Responsibilities
Assist in preparing and analyzing the weekly cash forecast to support liquidity planning and financial decision-making.
Provide support during month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, reporting, and data validation.
Participate in special projects as assigned, tailored to business priorities and intern development goals.
Train and ramp up to effectively deliver on weekly and monthly business-as-usual (BAU) Finance and/or Tax deliverables.
Prepare and present an end-of-summer presentation summarizing internship learnings, contributions, and insights.
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Analytics.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or similar).
Exceptional organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
