CMC is a Fortune 500® company leading in the steel and construction reinforcement industries. The Finance Intern will work closely with the Financial Analyst to gather and analyze data that supports financial plans and will have opportunities to learn and develop essential finance skills.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Financial Analyst to gather, analyze and prepare data that supports current and future financial plans
Learn and develop the business acumen, technical accounting and finance skills necessary to excel as a future finance leader
Completes special projects as assigned by their manager, to include analysis and change continuous improvement recommendations as requested
Team with Operations to provide decision support via financial modeling, business case analysis and financial / management reporting
Identify, recommend, and implement process improvement opportunities where applicable
Learn and utilize various analytics platforms such as Power Bi, SQL databases, SAP and Coupa
Create ad-hoc analysis as needed
Presentation/Report on an improvement project at the end of internship
Qualification
Required
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited university and pursuing a business-related degree plan (Junior/Senior level preferred)
Ability to apply strong analytical and problem solving skills to identify and research resolution to issues and trends with transactions
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
Must 18 years of age or older and currently enrolled in High School or an accredited college or university program
Preferred
Experience with data analytics, reporting, and data visualization preferred
Hands-on experience in real-world projects across our recycling centers, fabrication plants, manufacturing facilities, steel mills, and offices
