Laurentian Bank is a major player in the financial sector, serving a diverse clientele across Canada. They are seeking an Analyst Intern to develop foundational skills in credit analysis and fund allocation within equipment financing, supporting the Credit Team in managing client portfolios and originating new transactions.
Responsibilities
Review credit applications for completeness and accuracy
Verify employment and income information, financial statements, and bank statements, ensuring compliance with internal policies
Apply and understanding KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) guidelines and regulations
Liaise with Account Executives and Credit Officers to resolve inconsistencies or missing information
Accurately input and maintain data in loan origination system(s)
Support Sales and Credit in preparing their Customer Annual Reviews
Support Analysts with new loan applications, annual reviews and all other credit-related communications for clients and prospects
Assist with financial analysis and assessment of risks incurred by the Bank for financing offered to clients
Support the Sales Coordination team in the legal documentation process related to their transactions
Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Credit, Legal and Operations) to gain a thorough understanding of the transaction and to provide superior customer service to all parties
Ensure all credit conditions are fulfilled and work with credit on resolving any issues which arise
Stay informed on market trends, relevant legislation and the Bank’s policies, procedures, products and services
Perform work in compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Assist with the creation of work process guides
Complete other related tasks assigned in support of team and business objectives
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or any other related field
Strong team player with collaborative mindset
Effective spoken and written communication skills
Basic financial analysis and analytical reasoning skills
Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn independently and with peers
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
