CSX is a transportation company offering a 10-week paid accounting internship for students seeking real-world accounting experience. The intern will participate in core accounting activities, contribute to special projects and process improvements, conduct accounting research and analysis, communicate findings to department leaders, and complete cross-functional assignments.
Responsibilities
Participate in and learn core areas of the accounting organization
Contribute to special projects that support field employees, technology initiatives, customer relationships, financial and liquidity objectives, as well as reporting and compliance
Engage in process improvement projects
Conduct accounting research and analysis
Communicate the results of research and analyses to department leaders
Complete cross-functional projects and miscellaneous activities as assigned by manager
Qualification
Required
· Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
· Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in: Accounting, Finance, Business or a related major field of study from an accredited institution
· Be available to work up to 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week program
· Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills
· Must be 18 years of age
· Strong academic performance and demonstrated interest in accounting or finance
· Proven leadership ability and initiative
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to develop and deliver presentations
Preferred
· Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5 (based on a 4-point scale)
· Previous internship, co-op, part-time, or relevant work experience
· Demonstrated leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, volunteer activities, or campus involvement
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
