Kratos Defense and Security Solutions is seeking a temporary, part-time Accounting Intern for their Corporate Finance team. The intern will assist with routine accounting tasks, ensuring accurate and timely financial records while working under close supervision.
Responsibilities
Learn and apply basic accounting job skills while following company policies and procedures
Perform routine, well defined assignments that require limited judgment
Enter data into accounting systems, prepare routine reports, and maintain organized records
Assist with posting ledger and general journal entries and processing invoices and vouchers
Support balancing and reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable
Conduct simple research and respond to internal inquiries using company systems
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and financial information
Follow detailed instructions and work under close supervision
Collaborate primarily with the immediate team, with limited external interaction
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
A Junior or Senior college student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
A GPA of 3.0 or higher
Basic understanding of accounting principles or coursework in accounting
Strong attention to detail and organization
Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties, including computer skills
Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements
Communicate and interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and the public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies
Have a willingness and ability to learn and utilize company technology for company required purposes, including, for example training, reviewing, and signing policies and procedures, benefits enrollment, and changes, and more
Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities as it pertains to your job
