Exact Sciences is helping change how the world prevents, detects, and guides treatment for cancer. They are seeking an Accounting Intern to assist in day-to-day accounting responsibilities with a focus on account reconciliations and Sarbanes Oxley controls, providing a hands-on experience in financial accounting for a public SEC filer.
Responsibilities
Develop skills and knowledge across general accounting sub teams: SEC, Consolidations, Integrations, Cost Accounting, Fixed Assets and General Accounting
Maintain accounting policies and procedures that are in compliance with applicable government regulations (SOX, GAAP, IFRS)
Perform or shadow general accounting sub team members for month end close and quarter end close tasks including general account analysis and reconciliations
Assist in financial statement preparation through account classifications and transactional coding
Partner with accounting team members to assemble information for external auditors for external filings
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
Partner with general accounting team on technology and close efficiency projects
Qualification
Required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software Suite
Enrollment towards bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Ability to use computers daily in an interactive manner for extended periods of time and up to 8 hours per day
