Redwire is accelerating humanity’s expansion into space by delivering reliable, economical and sustainable infrastructure for future generations. The Accounting Intern will gain exposure to payroll functions and support compliance, regulations, and policies within the accounting department.
Responsibilities
Exposure to payroll weekly processes “end-to-end”
Preparation of payroll general ledger account reconciliations
Preparation of correcting payroll journal entries
Assists Payroll team with month end close journal entries
Learn to run weekly reports in Paycor payroll module
Other daily duties include but are not limited to assisting the finance and payroll team in performing various duties including daily operations, research, and maintaining records. This shall include scanning, emailing, and organizing documents for record keeping
Qualification
Required
A rising junior or higher is currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited university and pursuing a degree in accounting or finance
Intermediate Microsoft Excel knowledge
Knowledgeable in basic accounting principles
Preferred
Passionate about accounting and have a high level of energy, a drive to work in a team/collaborative environment and a desire to excel in all aspects of your work
Candidates who strive for excellence in all aspects of their college or university experience as demonstrated by the results of their coursework, projects, lab work, workshops, internships and other collegiate activities
Candidates who are creative, resourceful, open-minded and driven to succeed
Interns who have strong problem-solving skills
Candidate willing to work part-time throughout the school year and full-time during the summer months (working up to 20 hours per week during spring/fall and up to 40 hours during the summer)
