Neogen Corporation is dedicated to enhancing the quality and safety of the global food supply. They are seeking a Finance Intern to gain hands-on exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis while working alongside experienced finance professionals.
Responsibilities
Assist with monthly financial reporting, including preparing schedules, updating templates, and validating financial data
Support budgeting and forecasting activities by gathering data, performing variance analysis, and preparing summary reports and presentations
Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions, including cost analysis, trend analysis, and KPI tracking
Partner with cross-functional teams to collect information, research discrepancies, and help ensure data accuracy and completeness
Help maintain financial databases, dashboards, spreadsheets, and documentation
Participate in special projects such as process improvement initiatives, basic financial modeling, system updates, and other ad hoc tasks to support the finance organization
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret numerical data and identify trends
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, basic functions, spreadsheets); familiarity with financial modeling or data analysis tools is a plus
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred
Exposure to ERP or financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
Coursework or foundational knowledge in accounting principles and/or corporate finance
Interest in or exposure to data visualization tools (such as Power BI or Tableau)
