Methode Electronics is a global provider of innovative electronic solutions serving automotive, industrial, aerospace, and consumer electronics industries. The company is seeking an Accounting Intern to support Accounts Receivable and Corporate Accounting activities, including invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, process improvements, and audit readiness.
Responsibilities
Assist with the generation, review, and distribution of customer invoices
Support cash application activities, including processing ACH, wire, and check payments
Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation to ensure audit readiness and compliance
Partner with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Finance teams to resolve account discrepancies and support customer account management
Review and reconcile outstanding debits, credits, and customer account balances
Support accounts payable processes, including invoice review, voucher processing, and freight invoice approvals
Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities, including account reconciliations and financial analyses
Support intercompany accounting activities, including reconciliations, loan balances, dividends, and distributions
Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules under the guidance of the accounting team
Assist in the preparation and consolidation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
Utilize Excel, reporting tools, and AI-powered technologies to improve reporting accuracy, data analysis, and process efficiency
Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline
Strong interest in accounting, financial reporting, corporate finance, or accounts receivable functions
Foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
High attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and time management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States on a permanent basis post-graduation
Preferred
experience with VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, and data analysis
Experience using AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar technologies to support data analysis, reporting, research, and process improvement
