Hammond Power Solutions Inc. is a global manufacturer headquartered in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. They are seeking an Accounting Intern to support the Accounting department by assisting with tasks such as accounts payable and receivable, requiring strong attention to detail and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Processing
Prepares and processes purchase orders invoices and invoice journals timely and accurately
Ensures purchase orders, receiving and invoices are matched and the input is accurate and expense accounting is correct
Ensures that proper approvals are obtained
Ensures filing is accurate and up-to-date
Follow up on outstanding accounts and communicate with customers regarding overdue balances
Follow up with customers on chargebacks and investigate discrepancies to resolve
Support in preparing Accounts Receivable reports and statements
General duties such as data entry, record keeping, document organization along with generating and sending invoices
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a college or university accounting program
Strong analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills
Working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel
Superior organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
Ability to work in both a team environment and independently
Ability to work under and to meet deadlines consistently
Detail oriented
