The Shelly Company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable/Accounting Intern to join their Finance team, offering hands-on experience with invoicing, billing, and reconciliations.
Responsibilities
Assist with analyzing, posting and reconciling remittance files/invoices.
Focus on accurate and timely payment posting.
Validate customer sales orders and ticketing for materials.
Working with company staff to determine solutions to common accounting, invoicing, and billing issues.
Provide clerical support and assist staff with data entry, month-end closings, and reconciliations.
Learn and assist with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Assist with other special projects and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualification
Required
Working towards a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting from a college or technical school.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Understanding knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Must have a strong desire to learn.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.

Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, but may require protective equipment at some facilities.
