Central Garden & Pet is a company dedicated to nurturing happy and healthy homes for over 40 years, and they are seeking a motivated intern to work within the Accounting department. This internship will provide valuable experiences and exposure to key projects while developing core competencies in financial reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities
Support the Accounting team in providing timely, accurate and insightful reporting and analysis related to Financial Reporting and Analysis
Able to learn and prepare supporting information for month-end journal entries
Deliver support in the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
Ability to demonstrate to work collaboratively with other team members on special projects
Skillfully utilize the company’s accounting software (SAP) and other ad hoc accounting tools
Assist with accounting projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Junior or Senior level student working on a degree in Accounting/Finance or other related degree
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Demonstrated high proficiency in analytical and critical thinking using facts from data via Excel or other insight models
Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment and develop relationships across functional groups
Ability to handle multiple ongoing projects while taking guidance from different project sponsors
High level of energy and sense of urgency; self-starter; strong and effective multi-tasker
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
