Bel is a company on a mission with 160 years of innovation and family values, focused on closing the nutrition gap in the U.S. The Accounting Intern will support the plant controlling team with accounts payable, financial reporting, cost analysis, and general accounting activities, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Process vendor invoices and verify coding accuracy
Route invoices for approval
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal departments
Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting records
Assist with preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly plant performance reports
Support month-end close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
Update and maintain reporting dashboards and spreadsheets
Analyze labor, material, and overhead variances
Support cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis
Assist with tracking plant KPIs including production efficiency, waste, yield, and labor utilization
Prepare ad hoc financial analyses for plant leadership
Support special projects assigned by the controlling team
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
Knowledge of Business, General Accounting and analytical concepts
Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
Effective communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Interest in manufacturing, cost accounting, or operations finance
Requires excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, in English
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
Fine motor skills for operating tools or machinery
Work in hot, cold, or humid environments
Occasional exposure to loud machinery or equipment
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Preferred
Familiarity with Power BI or data visualization tools is a plus
