Symrise AG is a global supplier of fragrances and flavors, and they are seeking an Accounting & Finance Intern to support key accounting and finance operations. The role involves hands-on experience with fixed assets, data analysis, and collaboration on cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

Support fixed asset accounting processes, including project tracking, asset setup, and data validation in SAP
Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation
Assist with aligning SAP project data with internal systems and tracking tools
Support data clean-up initiatives, including closing outdated purchase orders and reviewing project listings
Assist with CapEx activities, including monitoring assets under construction and supporting placement into service
Contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement efforts across accounting workflows
Provide support for audit preparation, including data gathering and validation
Perform general accounting support tasks, including data entry, reporting, and analysis
Collaborate with team members on cross-functional projects and ad hoc finance initiatives

Qualification

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Ability to work onsite from our Saddle Brook, NJ location
Strong interest in accounting processes, particularly fixed assets and ERP systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Proactive, eager to learn, and able to work in a hands-on environment
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
High level of accuracy and accountability when handling financial data
