GCM Grosvenor is hiring a summer intern to perform fund accounting functions for partnerships and accounts managed by the firm. The role supports fund accounting, investment valuation, cash reconciliation, performance reporting, and coordination with service providers and internal teams.
Responsibilities
Maintain the accounting ledgers for fund-of-hedge funds and related investment vehicles
Manage, monitor, and provide guidance to outsourced service providers
Reconcile cash balances for current and expected cash flows
Liaison between the Firm and underlying managers/administrators
Weekly and monthly calculation and reporting of fund performance
Effectively work with other teams throughout the firm, including tax, legal, treasury, client services, etc
Support investment and client relationship personnel on ad-hoc requests
General accounting responsibilities
Assist in special projects as requested
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a BA/BS in Accounting/Finance with outstanding academic credentials; applicable coursework or internship in the field of investments or financial markets
Knowledge of partnership accounting as well as exposure to financial reporting, auditing, and tax
Demonstrated team player; self-starter; independent thinker; excellent judgment
Positive mind set with an eagerness to learn and desire to build and improve process
Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment with a high level of flexibility, accuracy, and attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Good written and verbal communication skills
Curiosity about AI and a willingness to use AI-enabled tools, such as Claude and ChatGPT, to improve producitvity, problem-solving, and day-to-day workflows
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
Applicants requiring future sponsorship for continued work authorization (for example, following F-1 OPT/CPT, or J-1 status) are not eligible
Preferred
PC experience – advanced knowledge of MS Excel
