U.S. Bank is hiring a Commercial Real Estate Summer Intern to learn and support credit analysis, underwriting, and assessment of commercial real estate loan risk. The intern will contribute to loan reviews, financial analysis, covenant monitoring, client interactions, and credit presentations.
Responsibilities
Underwrite, structure and present a new loan opportunity as part of the intern Capstone project
Assist in completing quarterly trending reports (QTR) and annual reviews of existing clients
Support senior credit analysts in underwriting new business opportunities, financial spreading, risk rating loans, and calculating various financial metrics
Measuring, monitoring, and testing a wide variety of financial covenants as specified within credit approval documents
Reading and interpreting relevant credit approval requirements to accurately input monitoring requirements and covenants into a standard compliance monitoring system
Analyzing financial statement results and preparing reports to communicate financial performance and trends with Portfolio Managers, Relationship Managers, and/or Credit Administration
Interacting with clients as appropriate; attending meetings with companies in the supported portfolio
Explore the use of AI-enabled tools, including Microsoft Copilot, to assist with financial analysis, market research, and development of credit presentations and reports
Develop technical and business acumen through training, mentorship, and exposure to senior executives
Build a supportive community of peers through a variety of cohort strengthening activities such as social events, volunteer days, and development workshops
