OdysseyRe offers a unique opportunity for a highly motivated intern to join their IT Financial Management team. The role focuses on gaining hands-on experience in financial operations, specifically in IT financial planning and analysis, while supporting various budgeting and reporting processes.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development and evaluation of business cases for IT initiatives, including return on investment (ROI), total cost of ownership (TCO), and value realization.
Support budget development and forecasting processes for global IT spend, including data collection, consolidation, and reconciliation.
Conduct variance analysis on IT expenses vs. budget/forecast, identifying key drivers and trends.
Help prepare executive-level presentations that summarize financial results, project performance, and strategic recommendations.
Participate in cross-functional meetings with Finance, IT, and Project Management teams to gather financial insights and contribute to reporting.
Collaborate on process improvement initiatives related to IT financial governance and reporting.
Leverage Excel, PowerPoint, and financial planning tools to deliver accurate and meaningful financial data.
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Strong interest in the intersection of finance, technology, and business strategy.
Solid analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, global environment.
High level of attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Preferred
Experience with financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Anaplan)
