Advanced Micro Devices is a semiconductor company that designs and develops graphics units, processors, and media solutions. The internship role involves performing SOC post-silicon debug for AMD’s flagship CPU products, allowing the intern to learn about modern SOC architecture and gain hands-on experience.
Responsibilities
Development and implementation of system software to verify SOC architectural and micro-architectural features.
Develop tools, infrastructure, processes and flows to root cause logical bugs in SOCs.
Debug silicon issues on hardware and emulator.
Works on related projects and/or assignments as needed.
Qualification
Required
Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Excellent Verilog coding, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate well with others on your team, as well as with other business units
Highly motivated self-starter
Passionate about SOC/CPU architecture
Ability to solve problems and reach goals
Preferred
Excellent Linux and scripting programming skills (Python or Ruby)
RTL/Verilog experience
Experience with version control software (e.g. perforce, git)
Familiarity with computer architecture
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
