The Walt Disney Company is a global organization focused on advancing the technological backbone for its media business. The Software Engineering Intern will design and implement software for the ad selection and campaign pacing ecosystem, while collaborating with teams to enhance systems’ observability and writing code for high-performance, microservice-based applications.
Responsibilities
Writing code and tests
Deploy code to prod and monitor deployments
Reviewing, learning, and documenting software and system designs in a high throughput, low latency microservices environment
Enhancing systems’ observability with proper metrics, monitors and alerts
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in Java
Understanding of version control systems e.g. Git
Familiarity with RESTful APIs
Demonstrable analytical / problem solving skills
Great communication, collaboration skills and a strong teamwork ethic with both technical and non-technical audiences
Junior or Senior year preferred
Currently enrolled undergraduate student in an accredited college/university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Fully available from M-F, 40 hours each week for the entire program duration: May/June - August/September 2026 (12 weeks)
Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
Preferred
Experience working with AWS or cloud technologies
Familiarity with visualization tools
