Oshkosh Corporation is a leading manufacturer of specialty trucks and access equipment, dedicated to serving and protecting communities worldwide. They are seeking a Software Defined Vehicle Intern for Summer 2026 to assist in the design and development of software modules for vehicle control and connectivity, as well as support the integration of software and hardware for next-generation vehicle platforms.
Responsibilities
Assisting in the design and development of software modules for vehicle control, connectivity, and automation
Testing embedded applications across electronic control units (ECUs), networks, and vehicle systems
Integrating software, hardware, and cloud-based platforms and using simulation environments and testing frameworks to validate SDV features and functions
Supporting over-the-air (OTA) update testing and vehicle software lifecycle management
Participating and documenting system architectures design, test procedures etc.
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with coursework in embedded systems or software-defined architectures
Familiarity with C++, Python, CLI, scripting or other embedded programming languages and Linux operating system
Genuine interest in SDV technologies, intelligent vehicles, and digital platforms
Willingness to travel or relocate to Oshkosh, WI for the summer internship (Housing provided for interns living more than 50 miles from the work location)
Preferred
Understanding of automotive software concepts such as CAN, AUTOSAR, or vehicle connectivity
