Mohawk Industries is the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States, and they are seeking a Research and Development Intern to lead a high-impact digital transformation project. The intern will focus on improving file organization and data hygiene within the R&D Test Laboratory over a 12-week program.
Responsibilities
Assess current-state file storage structure and identify inefficiencies
Analyze file naming conventions, duplication patterns, and storage gaps
Design an improved file organization framework
Develop scalable batch-file cleanup methodologies
Pilot test cleanup methods within defined repositories
Recommend a sustainable cleanup strategy and ongoing data governance protocol
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or related field
Strong understanding of information management principles and data organization practices
Ability to design scalable methods for large-scale file cleanup beyond basic file management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with scripting tools or database systems is a plus
Must be available for the full program duration and attend/present at Intern Expo Day
Preferred
Completed at least three years of coursework preferred
