Selective Insurance is a U.S. property and casualty insurance company offering an 11-week summer internship through its Ignite program. The IT E&S Insurance Product Delivery Intern will develop, test, maintain, and troubleshoot software solutions for underwriting while collaborating with engineers, peers, and business leaders.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions for underwriting
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using various technologies
Create and execute unit test cases to ensure the quality and reliability of the code
Debug and troubleshoot software issues under the guidance of senior engineers
Participate in code reviews and contribute to discussions on software design and architecture
Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly to support business processes and resolve issues
Work cross-functionally with peers and leaders to complete an Action Learning Project
Qualification
Required
Please note, this is a hybrid position, therefore, applicants must be within commuting distance of our Charlotte, NC or Hartford, CT location
Must be a current college student majoring in Computer Science or a related field to qualify
Be someone who takes ownership over work, has the ability to self-motivate and executes on delegated tasks
Demonstrates an interest in learning about the insurance industry
High School Diploma required

Ideal internship candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors, with the ability to perform at a professional level
