Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is the world’s largest tool and outdoor company, seeking an Engineering Intern for their IoT Connected Backend Services team. The role involves gaining hands-on experience in developing and maintaining backend services for IoT applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to various projects.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design, development, optimization and deployment of backend services for IoT applications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IoT devices with cloud-based platforms
Participate in the development of APIs and microservices to support IoT data processing and analytics
Help in optimizing and scaling backend systems to handle large volumes of IoT data
Conduct testing and debugging of backend services to ensure reliability and performance
Document technical specifications and processes for future reference
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in IoT and backend development

Qualification

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with a target graduation date of 2028 or 2027
Strong understanding of programming languages such as Typescript, Python, Java, C or Node.js
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus
Knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL)
Experience with IoT device firmware development and mobile development is an advantage
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail with excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
