The Product Strategy & Technology Intern will support projects, collaborate with multiple departments, and develop an understanding of the company's business model and technology environment.
Responsibilities
Develop an understanding of the First Solar business model and our technology environment
Participate in the co-op program and work-specific training and development
Support/manage engagements with 3rd party consultants
Work collaboratively with multiple departments within First Solar
Participate in, or lead, meetings with First Solar staff and/or customers
Work with experienced professionals in the performance of responsibilities; check in regularly with assigned mentor
Lead a minimum of one business-case/project-finance based project with end of term reporting; potential projects could be:
Build, run, and interpret complex financial models & sensitivities
Track market policy updates and translate them into clear financial and competitive implications
Using 3 RD party intel, provide a firm and accurate view of Market PV supply across the US and or India
Upon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team
Qualification
Required
Graduate/Undergraduate students preferably in an analytical or technical field (Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, etc.)
Overall G.P.A. greater than or equal to 3.00 (based upon 4.0 scale)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written communication
Flexible and adaptable with a willingness to learn
Proficiency in financial modeling and accounting
Ability to conduct market research and work with large sets of data to distill trends, policy and insights
High business acumen & ability to engage with stakeholders
Demonstrates an analytical approach to problem solving
Highly proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required
Ability to travel within the US & Canada
20/40 vision in both eyes together, with or without correction, is required
Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards, and a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair) for those requiring respirator use
Preferred
Proficiency in Power Bi and or Python will be an added advantage
