The Walt Disney Company is a global leader in entertainment and consumer products, and they are seeking a Product Design Intern for their Disney Consumer Products division. The intern will assist in developing and designing product mock-ups, collaborating with the design team, and managing multiple design projects to ensure high-quality consumer-focused products.
Responsibilities
Develop and design product mock-ups, compile line sheets for line reviews, and layout creative presentations and pitch decks
Collaborate with the design team to establish color palettes and point-of-view boards
Coordinate product submissions for reviews and approvals
Organize and maintain product and market samples
Ensure product approvals through digital platforms and collaborative meetings, maintaining exceptional quality in character execution, intricate storytelling, and excellence in color, material, form, and function
Concept, design, sketch, prototype, and present trend-right, consumer-centric product lines with market-leading innovation while optimizing profitability
Monitor competitors, product innovation, and market dynamics
Research initial seasonal trends by category
Manage multiple design projects within established deadlines
Qualification
Required
Proven entry-level experience in related areas
Exceptional knowledge and passion for color direction
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding product design skills (e.g., product design, technical design, advanced sketching, creative application and manipulation of art, fabric, and trim identification)
Proficient computer software skills (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, inclusive of Photoshop and Illustrator; MS Office)

Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Must have the ability to work full-time hours (approximately 40 per week) Monday - Friday, for the duration of the internship
Being able to provide one's own housing and reliable transportation to/from work is required
Preferred
Junior or Senior year preferred
Major or previous coursework in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Graphic Design, or a related field
